Roofing questions, answered
Straight answers on claims, warranty terms, financing, permits, subcontracted crews and how long a roof takes. If yours is not here, call the office.
Is the inspection really free?
Yes, and it is a real inspection rather than a sales visit with a ladder. About forty-five minutes, every slope walked where it is safe to walk, the attic looked at where there is access, dated photographs, and a written answer whether we find anything or not. It is not a claim, it does not open one, and it does not obligate you to anything. If your roof is fine we will say so and leave. What about my deductible?
It is yours. It is set by your policy, it is between you and your carrier, and it is not ours to move — in any form, in any amount, for any reason. Georgia law is unusually direct about this and there is a plain-language explanation of exactly what it says, and of what a contractor offering to make it go away is telling you about themselves, on our claims page.Do you deal with my insurance company for me?
No, and that is a legal line rather than a preference. Acting as your representative with your carrier is public adjusting and public adjusting is licensed work in Georgia. What we do is document the damage, give you and your carrier the identical written scope and photographs, and meet your adjuster at your house so that everybody is looking at the same roof. What the carrier approves is between you and them.Should I file a claim?
That is your decision and your agent's. We can tell you what we see on your roof, in writing, with photographs. We cannot tell you what to do about your policy, we cannot predict what your carrier will approve, and any roofer who does either is guessing with your money. How long does a roof take?
Most residential replacements are one day. Complicated geometry, a steep pitch, or a lot of decking replacement can make it two — and we tell you which one yours is before we start rather than at four o'clock on the first afternoon. What does the ten-year workmanship warranty actually cover?
Leaks caused by how we installed the roof, and the interior damage such a leak causes. Not the shingles themselves — those carry the manufacturer's own separate written warranty with its own terms — and not a later storm, impact, or foot traffic. The full coverage, the exclusions and the transfer terms are printed together on the roof replacement page and in your contract, and we will email you a copy any time you ask.Do I need a permit?
For a replacement, in most of where we work, yes — and it is in the price. The honest complication is that Georgia deletes the permit chapter of the residential code without substitution, so there is no state rule and every answer is local. They genuinely differ: some jurisdictions exempt a standard shingle replacement, some do not, and Cherokee County publishes no answer either way. We get yours in writing before anything is ordered.Do you use subcontracted crews?
Yes, like almost every roofing company at this size, and we would rather say so than let you find out. They are the same crews job after job, they are insured, and a Lockridge project manager and our production manager are on the job — which is the part that actually decides how your roof gets installed. Anyone in this trade telling you every hand on the roof is on their payroll is describing an unusual company or an untrue one. What if it rains in the middle of the job?
We do not tear off more than we can dry in. If the weather turns, the open sections are dried in before anybody leaves the property, and we come back. A crew that strips a whole roof at eight in the morning on a day with afternoon storms in the forecast is making your weather somebody else's problem. How does the financing work?
Nothing due at signing, terms up to sixty months, and a twelve-month interest-free option — with a full explanation of how deferred interest actually works, because that is the part most sites skip and it is the part that costs people money. All three offers, the math, and the fine print are on the financing page. You are not one of the crews that showed up last week, are you?
No. We have been in Canton since 2009, the office on Univeter Road is a building the company owns, our license goes on every permit we pull, and there is a full-time warranty coordinator whose entire job is the phone call you make three years after we leave. That last one is the part that is hard to fake, which is why it is the part worth checking on anybody.

Get on the roof and know for sure.
Forty-five minutes, dated photographs, a written answer, and no obligation of any kind.
